CONADEIP Mexico

The team that will travel to Tanzania from Mexico will be an all- star roster of players selected from educational institutions within the CONADEIP Conference. The conference kicks off its inaugural football season in the fall of 2010, having restructured to provide a highly competitive schedule for the long-dominant private universities in Mexico. The eight schools within CONADEIP are Tecnológico de Monterrey Campus in Puebla, Santa Fe, Toluca, Monterrey, Estado de México and Ciudad de México and also Universidad de las Américas Puebla and Universidad Regiomontana.

Founded in 1977, the National Commission Collegiate Athletics of Private Institutions (CONADEIP) is composed of 128 schools and universities settled throughout 16 states in Mexico. Over 15,000 student athletes participate in 13 different sports, both male and female, while complying with the organization’s and institutions’ commitment to academic development.

Several of the most successful sports programs in Mexico, as well as many of the country’s most recognized athletes, compete every year in the various National Championships the CONADEIP organizes. This is what makes the level of competition in the CONADEIP the highest in Mexico, and allows its teams to play against colleges that are members of the NCAA and the NAIA.

CONADEIP athletes have gone on to represent their schools and Mexico in the most important international events, like the World Championships, The World University Games, The Central American and Caribbean Games, The Pan American Games and The Olympic Games, to mention a few. And have honored their country and their institutions with medals and championships.

This year the CONADEIP welcomed football to the list of competition sports it hosts. The Premier Conference reunites eight football programs known for their success. Three of them have been the dominate forces in Mexican college football for the past 20 years. Monterrey Tech Campus Monterrey and Mexico State, as the University of the Americas Puebla have won all the National Championships in Mexico since 1993, while also having several of their players be part of the former NFL Europe and the NFL.

Its well organized sporting events and close level of competition are reasons for why CONADEIP receives the national coverage it gets from Mexican and international media. They are also reasons for the partners CONADEIP and its institutions have supporting their athletic activities.

CONADEIP’s slogan, “in every athlete, a graduate”, speaks of how bright the future looks for Mexico’s leading collegiate sports organization.
